Government of Telangana proposed to develop Hyderabad Nagpur Industrial Corridor (HNIC) in Telangana State, which is well-positioned in the national network of industrial corridors and strategically located in the influence area of North-South Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC). HNIC includes Zaheerabad National Investment and Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ) project as a node, which got the final approval from Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Government of India (DPIIT).
Zaheerabad NIMZ (12,635.14 acres) is spread across 17 villages of Nyalkal and Jharasangam Mandals in the Sangareddy District of Telangana State. It is in close proximity of NH 65 and is located at a distance of approximately 9 km North of Zaheerabad – a major commercial centre of the district, about 80 km north-west of the state capital Hyderabad, approx 65 km to the Hyderabad Outer Ring Road (ORR) and approx 48 km west of proposed regional ring road.
The proposed site falls in the Secunderabad Division of Southern Central Railways (SCR). The Vikarabad – Parli Vaijnath Rail line (South Central Railway) abuts the NIMZ area on the west near Basantpur village. The nearest railway stations are Metalkunta (2 km) & Zaheerabad (14 km).
