Raipur – Visakhapatnam Economic Corridor

464 km Raipur – Visakhapatnam Economic Corridor (NH-130CD & EC-15), also known as Raipur – Vizag Expressway, is an approved 6 lane access-controlled road by NHAI with a route alignment through Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.

Construction of this greenfield corridor will be financed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) under Bharatmala Pariyojana Phase-I program with a primary goal to improve the efficiency of freight movement and boost exports.

YONGMA Engineering Co. Ltd. – Arkitechno Consultants was appointed as the agency to prepare its Detailed Project Report (DPR).

When ready, the distance from Raipur to Vizag will reduce from 590 km to 464 km and reduce travel time from 14 hours to about 7 hours.

Raipur – Visakhapatnam Economic Corridor Current Status

Tendering is underway for the expressway’s construction. Detailed Project Report (DPR) for a majority of the project has been completed and acquisition of land, forest and environment clearance are in different stages of approval.

The Raipur – Vizag Economic Corridor project starts from Abhanpur near Raipur (Chhattisgarh) and ends at Sabbavaram near Vizag (Andhra Pradesh). The highway’s greenfield alignment will pass through the states of Chhattisgarh (124.611 km), Odisha (262.211 km) and Andhra Pradesh (99.629 km).
