Orvakal Node at Kurnool District, Andhra Pradesh is being developed as a Mega Industrial Hub as part of Hyderabad Bengaluru Industrial Corridor (HBIC). Hyderabad Bengaluru Industrial Corridor (HBIC) aims to integrate several manufacturing clusters in the region between Hyderabad and Bengaluru with requisite infrastructure backbone. This corridor also serves as a valuable linkage between two other major economic corridors in Southern India, namely, Chennai-Bangalore Industrial Corridor (CBIC) and Vishakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor (VCIC).

The proposed Mega Industrial Hub at Orvakal village at Kurnool district admeasures an area of approximately 9800 acres spread across 11 villages and 8 distinct land parcels located off NH 40, which connects Hyderabad to Chennai via Kurnool, Nandyal, Kadapa and Tirupati. The Orvakal Mega Industrial Hub (OMIH) land parcels are in close proximity to each other and have unique geographical and location advantages.

Broad gauge railway line connecting Hyderabad to Bengaluru via Anantapur runs mostly alongside NH 44 in a North-South direction. Another railway line connecting Hubbali-Dharwad in Karnataka to Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh runs in an East-West direction close to the southern portion of the site. The project site is strategically located near Kurnool Airport, which has commenced operations in March 2021. Road connectivity is served by NH 44, NH 40, Kurnool Bypass, SH 31 and SH 30 apart from Major District Roads. Krishnapatnam port is located 320 km to the East.

Consultant has been appointed for the preparation of a detailed master plan & preliminary engineering for the project.
