“For example, the current cost structure of electricity tariffs with fixed tariffs independent of energy consumption, combined with low usage of public charging stations, makes it difficult to break even. States like UP, Delhi and Gujarat do not have fixed tariffs or are low, but there are other states there where fixed tariffs are high, thus putting a strain on sustainability,” FICCI said.

The report called for action from key stakeholders, including policymakers, industry players and government bodies, to enable India’s transition to clean energy and sustainability.
