New Delhi: Bharat Coal Gasification and Chemicals Ltd (BCGCL), the first coal gasification project of Coal India Limited (CIL) and Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL), has received approval from the High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA) of Odisha, by BCGCL CEO Dr Peeyush Kumar told PSU Watch. In a letter dated December 18, accessed by PSU Watch, Odisha’s IPICOL said that its HLCA has “considered the proposal of M/s Bharat Coal Gasification and Chemicals Limited to set up a high content coal generation unit of ash to ammonium nitrate plant with annual capacity of 6,60,000 tonnes at Lakhanpur, Jharsuguda with a total investment of Rs 11,782.05 crore and approved the proposal ‘in principle’ with the following standard conditions.”
