Krishnapatnam node has been identified as a priority node in the state of Andhra Pradesh under Chennai Bengaluru Industrial Corridor (CBIC). The site is spread across two sites located about 60km apart. The north and south sites together admeasure approximately 14,200 acres.
- North site is in Nellore District, about 10 km from the Krishnapatnam Port. It is located about 20 km east of NH 16 and presently connected through existing state highways/district/village roads to NH 16. In the North site, the total area covered including land parcels available for development, water bodies, roads, existing developments/activities, etc., is around 12,798 acres. The area available for development is around 10,480 acres.
- South site is in Chittoor District located at about 60 km south-west of Krishnapatnam Port. It is about 2 km south of NH 71 and presently connected to NH 71 through existing district/village roads.
For the development of the Activation Area in Phase – 1 in the North Node has been selected, to maximize the benefit of land under the ownership of Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) to enable early commencement of plan implementation activities. The area of Phase-1 is 2,492 acres, within which the activation area is 2,139 acres. Considering the continuity of land, land under immediate possession and environment impact assessment constraints, EPC of infrastructure works shall be taken for 2,139 acres only.
Consultant has been appointed for the preparation of a detailed master plan and preliminary engineering for the project.
Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) under the chairmanship of Hon’ble Prime Minister has approved the project proposals for the construction of various trunk infrastructure components in Phase 1 of Krishnapatnam Industrial Area with an estimated cost of the project of ₹ 2,139.44 crores.
EPC Tender for Phase 1 Activation area 2,139 Acres has been finalised and to be issued shortly. A Project Management Consultant (PMC) has also been appointed.
